ULSTER UNIVERSITY

Here at Translink, we are working in partnership with Ulster University to ensure all staff and student travel requirements are met, no matter what campus you’re travelling to. The easiest, most convenient way to travel to all campuses is by bus or train.

This is an exciting time as Ulster University prepares to open its new Belfast campus and we have a wide range of convenient, reliable and safe services plus good value tickets to take you right into the heart of the city, including a new frequent university shuttle bus. What services can I get?

We have a wide range of bus and rail services to get you to and from all Ulster University campuses. Plan your journey for route options. Your journey can be planned from up to 28 days in advance of your departure date. 

If you are travelling to the new Belfast campus, search ‘Belfast, Ulster University Belfast’.

Metro U2 Uni-Link

From 4th January our Uni-Link 163a service will be renamed as Metro U2.

Metro U2 services will operate a similar timetable and serve the same route as the previous Ulsterbus 163a Uni-Link service.  Buses serve Europa Buscentre/Great Victoria Street Station, University Square and Ulster University Belfast & Jordanstown Campuses.

Jordanstown Campus

From Europa Buscentre / Great Victoria Street Station:

  • Metro U2 (Great Northern Mall bus stop on Great Victoria Street)​. £2.50 yLink day ticket on mLink for unlimited day travel on Metro U2 services and all Metro and Glider services.

Belfast Campus​

  • For travel from University Square to York Street (UUB) use Metro U2 service – £2.50 yLink day ticket on mLink for unlimited day travel on Metro U2 services and all Metro and Glider services.

Contactless payments are available onboard Metro U2 Uni-Link More on Metro Contactless Payment.

What Ticket Do I Need?

The best way to find out what tickets or travel cards you need is to plan your journey, select a journey option and then select ‘I want to see all fares’. This will give you an idea of the tickets or travel cards available for that journey.

24+ Railcard

It’s free for all full-time students over the age of 24 and it gives you great savings on NI Railways with 1/3 off cash and mLink singles, day return*, weekly and monthly tickets and up to 50% off Enterprise fares.
