Translink Spirit In Action

ECO SCHOOLS

32 schools took part in the initiative, with almost 800 students logging their active journeys.

The popular school's initiative sees Translink partner with Eco-Schools – the international environmental education programme - to deliver a Northern Ireland wide programme which incorporates curriculum-linked classroom resources and encourages schools to develop sustainable travel plans.

Pupils were challenged to log their journeys over their chosen two-week period with the aim to increase active travel modes such as walking, cycling, bus and train travel for the school run instead of private car use and in doing so, promoting active travel to their family and peers.
