THE LURGAN SHOW

Translink have announced that they are to partner with The Lurgan Show as a headline show sponsor once again, with the popular outdoor agricultural show returning after a two-year absence because of Covid-19.

The Show, which is due to take place on Saturday 4th June 2022 in Lurgan Park, is regarded as an important event in the agricultural calendar. 

Attending the official launch of the Lurgan Show at Craigavon Civic Centre, Translink Project Manager Aidan Smyth commented: 

“Translink are very pleased once again to partner with The Lurgan Show, which is a hugely popular show in the agriculture calendar, attracting hundreds of people into Lurgan for the day.

It is important for Translink to be in the heart of the community, giving back where we can and engaging as much as possible on the work we are doing to invest in the area. 

The Lurgan to Portadown Cable Renewal project is currently underway and involves upgrading the existing cabling infrastructure between Lurgan and Portadown Stations and the installation of new retaining walls. When completed, it will increase the rail corridor width and provide continuous positions of safety. This vital work will improve the overall performance of the rail network, reduce the level of maintenance needed in the long term and maintain high safety standards.
