For those who are unable to work from home, Translink bus and rail services are providing a safe and sustainable route to and from the workplace.

Public transport is fundamental to supporting a healthy, sustainable, inclusive and responsible recovery and boosting the economic and environmental performance of our society. 

It is imperative that we maintain and expand a comprehensive public transport network to help Northern Ireland recover from the current crisis and deliver a sustainable recovery to benefit everyone.

Returning to Work

As more and more businesses plan their return to on-site work, we are aware that there will likely be a transition to ‘blended’ work patterns, with people working at the office and at home – we’re currently working with businesses to encourage active and sustainable travel and we continue to actively call on everyone to practice the wider safety and travel advice including good hand hygiene, face covering use and social distancing.

Translink has kept our essential services operating throughout the worst of the pandemic, getting key workers to where they need to be. As we recover, the opportunity is there to make public transport the centrepiece of a modal shift in habits, with benefits for everyone;
