Belfast Grand Central Station

Belfast Grand Central Station is Northern Ireland's world class transport hub.

Opening Hours

  • Belfast Grand Central Station is open from 04.30-0:00 for all passengers. Outside these hours between 0:00 and 04:30, passengers with a valid ticket, or who are purchasing a ticket for travel for departure within one hour from our Ticket Vending Machines are welcome to enter the station via the night gate. This is located to the left of the main entrance of the station.
  • Customer support opening hours are 06:30-20:00 Monday to Saturday and 07:30-1800 Sunday
  • A valid ticket for an overnight service is required to remain in the station at night

Temporary Access Changes – Glengall Street Closure

Due to essential works at the western end of Glengall Street, vehicular access to Glengall Street will be temporarily closed from 6am on Wednesday 15 October until 6am on Friday 17 October.

Pedestrian access between Grand Central Station and Glengall Street will remain open via the designated walkway.

Drop-off points at St Andrew's Square and Value Car Parks will remain available during this time.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while these improvement works are carried out.

Access and Parking

Station Drop-off / Pick-up

Drop-off provision and a taxi rank for public hire taxi pick-up (Black Taxis) will be in place and various pedestrian crossings will be live along the road. 

There will be a waiting time of maximum 10 minutes in the dedicated drop-off spaces. Drop-off provision is outlined below: 

  • 8 spaces on the Station side of Boyne Bridge Place (5 general spaces and 3 dedicated public-hire taxi rank spaces) 
  • 5 spaces on the non-Station side of Boyne Bridge Place (3 general spaces and 2 dedicated public-hire taxi rank spaces)

Please note, other drop-off areas are currently available at Value Car Parks on Grosvenor Road and at St Andrew’s Square on Hope Street.  

Car Parking Arrangements

For Cross Border Passengers who wish to park their car and travel to Dublin (Enterprise and X1 and X2 Services only):

Approaching from Gt Victoria Street / Sandy Row use Go Park Great Northern Car Park – 24 hour operation. A reduced rate of £12 per 24 hours is available. With 530 spaces simply present your train / coach ticket at the car park kiosk.

Approaching from Grosvenor Road, there are also 575 car parking spaces available at the nearby Value Car Parks on Grosvenor Road. For more information and parking rates see https://www.valuecarparks.com/.

Departure screens and boards: Yes, these are displayed on all bus stands and train platforms. They are also displays on the CSI screen throughout the station.

Audio announcements: No, BGCS is a quiet station, please refer to the customer information screens, or ask a member of staff for assistance.

  • Full internal tactile paths linking entrances, Platforms, bus stands, customer information desk, ticket vending machines; fully accessible public toilets, changing places and parenting rooms.  
  • A Sensory Nook, a fully certified autism resource 
  • Changing Places and fully accessible toilets located under the escalators next to the customer support office on the ground floor.

Ticketing Information

The best way to buy your ticket is via the mLink app or online. If you do need to purchase a ticket in the station, please use a ticket vending machine.

  • 12 Ticketing Vending Machines across the station 
  • Customer Support Offices where tickets that cannot be bought online or at TVMs can be purchased.  
  • WiFi to support M Link tickets 
  • Automatic ticket barriers for railway.
