Consult with us directly if you plan any development or work within 50 metres of the railway boundary or within 200m of a level crossing or with the potential to cause ‘blocking back’ over the level crossing.

Contact us as far in advance of the proposed works as possible to allow necessary consultation of proposals and requirements for you to meet your programme dates while mitigating potential risks to the railway, including pre-planning and planning stage.

Note: We may be included as a consultee on your planning application proposals, however this is not always the case currently. Note that planning approval does not dimmish your responsibility to consult with us directly regarding railway requirements and consents and comply with the Third Party Works Procedure.

The benefits of consulting with us early are to protect the railway, safety critical national infrastructure, understand the railway requirements relevant to your proposals and mitigate any future costs and delays to your development proposals where possible. Translink Third Party Works Procedure around the railway is a requirement in addition to and not superseded by planning permission.
