Translink offers a number of safe, easy and simple ways to pay online, via our apps, and in person on board and in stations.
Please note, Translink tickets can only be bought through Translink. We do not sell tickets through other companies.
Buying online
You can buy most Translink tickets and travel cards online by planning your journey or choosing a Quick Buy Ticket from the drop-down menu.
You can pay with a credit card, debit card or PayPal.
Buying with our apps
You can buy tickets using our mLink and Journey Planner apps using a credit/debit card, PayPal or Google and Apple Pay.
Buying in person
You can also pay in person on the bus, at a station, or with the train conductor if there is no member of staff at the station.
For Glider services, you can buy your ticket from a Ticket Vending Machine before you travel. You'll usually pay the standard fare, but special offers may be available.
If you buy your ticket on board a Translink service, you can pay using contactless.

What if the driver has no change?
If you pay in cash with a large note and the driver does not have enough change, you will be given a card. The driver will:
- Give you a ticket for your journey and keep the note.
- Return your change before you get off the bus if they get enough change during the journey.
- Get the correct change at the bus station if they cannot give it to you during the journey.
- If you are not travelling to a bus station, tell the driver your name and where you would like to collect your change.
- Metro passengers can collect their change at Metro Short Strand Depot or another agreed Metro location.
