If your train is delayed, you may be able to claim money back through our Delay-Repay scheme.
Delay-Repay gives refunds for delays on individual journeys, no matter what type of ticket you have.
You can claim a refund for delays on all local NI Railways services. Delay-Repay does not apply to Enterprise services to Dublin. Enterprise compensation arrangements are covered by the Enterprise Charter, which is available at main rail stations.
Passengers who travel free of charge are not able to claim Delay-Repay compensation.
Can I make a claim?
You can claim compensation if your journey is delayed by:
- 30 to 59 minutes - 50% of the cost of a single ticket, or 50% of one part of a return ticket (either the outward or return journey).
- 60 to 119 minutes - 100% of the cost of a single ticket, or 100% of one part of a return ticket.
- 120 minutes or more - The full cost of a return ticket. If you travelled on a single ticket, you will receive compensation equal to the cost of a return ticket for that journey.
- Weekly, monthly and annual tickets - Compensation is worked out using the daily cost of your ticket.
