Our app will be getting updated on Tuesday 09 June 2026. While journey planning and next service features will remain working as normal, purchasing NI Railways tickets will require you to be on the latest version.
This will mean from Tuesday 09 June 2026 onwards you could experience issues when trying to complete a purchase.
Why do I have to update?
We are changing something in the back system of the app which means purchasing a ticket via the journey planner app will require you to be on the latest version from Tuesday 09 June 2026 onwards.
How do I update?
If you have automatic updates turned on for your device's app, your phone will install the update itself once Google or Apple push it out. If you do not have automatic update on, then you must manually update if you want to purchase NI Railways tickets on the journey planner app. This can be done by visiting google play or app store to update.
PLEASE NOTE that even after releasing to the public, Google and Apple can take a bit of time to show the latest version in their market places. We cannot control this)
When will the update be available?
We are releasing it to the public on Tuesday 09 June 2026. However, it is up to Google and Apple as to how soon they push it to a users device, or when they will display it in their market places once we complete our public release.
How do I know if I have the latest version?
The latest version number is 6.163.1.2831502. To see the latest version number you have, simply open the app and go to the menu. The version number will appear at the bottom starting with a 'v'.
I still haven't got the latest version. What should I do?
The best way is to have automatic update on for your device's apps, but Google and Apple decide when to push the update and to what users. But it helps by ensuring you are on WiFi, have plenty of battery or connected to your charge.
For manual updates, this can be done by visiting google play or app store to update.
PLEASE NOTE: that even after releasing to the public, Google and Apple can take a bit of time to show the latest version in their market places. If it is not available, please check back the next day.
If the latest version is not on your device and Google and Apple still don't have the latest version ready to download, then NI Railways tickets can still be purchased via the mLink ticketing app or on the Translink website.
PLEASE NOTE: This update is for the Translink journey planner app only. mLink ticketing app will not be effected.
