Our travel cards provide unlimited travel for a day, week or month and are available on Metro, Glider and Ulsterbus Town Services. They're the perfect way to save if you make more than 2 bus journeys a day and the more you travel, the more you save!


Unlimited Travel

Your travel card starts when you first use it. A day ticket lasts until just after midnight. A weekly ticket lasts for 7 days. A monthly ticket lasts for one calendar month. For example, if you start using it on 25 February, it is valid until 24 March.

Topping Up

Smartlink

  • Ulsterbus customers can top up on board, at stations or at PayPoint stores across Northern Ireland.
  • Metro and Glider customers can top up at Visit Belfast Centre in Donegall Square North, Ticket Vending Machines at Glider halts or at PayPoint Agents across Northern Ireland. You cannot top up cards onboard. 
  • Once you start using your card, you can top up with more travel.
  • When you add more days to your card, they start from the day you top up. For example, if you have 3 days left and add 7 more days, your card will be valid for 10 days from the day of the top-up.

dayLink

  • You can add 1, 5 or 10 travel days to a dayLink card. The days do not need to be used one after another. Any unused days stay on your card until you need them.
  • Cards can be topped-up with one day’s travel on board a Metro bus using cash (or Ulsterbus within the Metro operating area). You cannot buy a dayLink card on board a bus.
  • Top-ups of 1, 5 and 10 days travel are available at Ticket Vending Machines at Glider halts, PayPoint Agents, main Translink stations, Visit Belfast (Donegall Square North).  
  • Top-ups bought at ticket machines, PayPoint stores or Translink stations are charged at the standard fare.

Card Validation

For every journey, place your dayLink or Smartlink card on the card reader when you board the bus or use a Glider halt. If you do not show a valid card, you will need to pay the full fare.
