Join us in supporting the nationwide Railway 200 campaign celebrating 200 years of the modern railway.  

Throughout 2025, we are celebrating rail’s remarkable past, its essential role today and future aspirations for our railway in creating a better connected world, supporting economic, environmental and social wellbeing.  

The campaign examines a wide range of rail matters across 4 core themes:  

  • Skills & Education 
  • Innovation, Technology & Environment 
  • Heritage, Culture & Tourism 
  • Celebrating Railway People 

The key official anniversary date is 27th September 2025 .

Translink is marking Railway 200 with a moving new series of short videos showcasing poems written by passengers, performed on trains and in stations.
