Translink Youth Forum
The Translink Youth Forum (TYF) is a regional group of young people aged between 14-24. TYF’s overall aim is to improve public transport for young people in Northern Ireland.
We do this by:
- providing a space for young people to express their views and experiences
- connecting young people to decision makers and those who are in power to create positive change
- represent young people by engaging in consultations workshops with Transport
Established in 2009, the Translink Youth Forum gives young people a voice in shaping public transport across Northern Ireland. The forum provides a supportive space for children and young people to share their views, experiences, and ideas about passenger transport, helping Translink better understand and meet their needs.
Each year, the Translink Youth Conference brings young people together with Translink staff to discuss key issues, share opinions, and influence future services.
Young people make up almost 40% of Translink’s customers, and their participation plays a vital role in improving services. Translink is committed to listening to young people and ensuring they are proud of their public transport — making Translink “Your First Choice for Travel in Northern Ireland.”
The Youth Forum includes around 20 members aged 15–24, and is delivered in partnership with an external organisation working alongside Translink.
