BALMORAL SHOW

This year Translink are offering great transport links to and from the 157th Balmoral Show being held from Wednesday 13 - Saturday 16 May to encourage more people to use the bus and train to get to Ireland’s largest Agricultural and Food Show, Balmoral Show.

Special transport arrangements are in place to help visitors get to and from the show grounds at Balmoral Park situated at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, Lisburn.

Services to and from Balmoral Show

A free shuttle bus service will operate between Lisburn Train Station and Balmoral Park each day of the show.

Take any scheduled bus service(s) to and from Lisburn Train Station.

Free Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus service will operate from Lisburn Train Station during the show period.

The shuttle service will operate:

  • From 09:00 each morning
  • Until the last shuttle leaving the showgrounds at 19:00 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Until the last shuttle leaving the showgrounds at 18:00 on Saturday

Show Closing Times

  • Wednesday 13th May – show closing time 19:00, last shuttle 19:00
  • Thursday 14th May – show closing time 19:00, last shuttle 19:00
  • Friday 15th May – show closing time 19:00, last shuttle 19:00
  • Saturday 16th May – show closing time 18:00, last shuttle 18:00

Estimated journey time is approximately 20–30 minutes.

Due to anticipated congestion around the site, passengers are advised to allow 30–45 minutes transfer time when returning from the show (Balmoral Park) to make onward bus or train connections. This is particularly important when travelling on Enterprise services or North West services.

Enterprise Services

From Wednesday 13th to Saturday 16th May, selected Enterprise services to and from Dublin Connolly will stop at Lisburn Railway Station, allowing passengers to easily access the free shuttle bus service.

Service Times

Wednesday 13th – Friday 15th May

  • Services from Dublin Connolly to Belfast Grand Central Station will stop at Lisburn at 10:50, 11:50, 12:50. 
  • Services from Belfast Grand Central Station to Dublin Connolly will stop at Lisburn at 15:12. 

Saturday 16th May

  • Services from Dublin Connolly to Belfast Grand Central Station will stop at Lisburn at 08:50, 09:50, 10:50, 11:50, 12:50

Services from Belfast Grand Central Station to Dublin Connolly will stop at Lisburn at 15:12, 17:12, 18:12

Free Travel for Seniors

If you have a Senior or 60+ Smartpass, you can travel for free on any Translink services within NI – you can also get free cross border travel with a Senior Smartpass (65+).

General Travel Advice

  • Shuttle buses will have limited space for prams and wheelchairs.
  • Passengers should ensure all prams / buggies are folded before getting on any of the shuttle buses or train services.
  • Please note there will be one wheelchair space available on each shuttle bus.
  • For passenger comfort, passengers are encouraged to avoid peak travel times and make their journeys after 09:30 and after the evening rush hour between 14:00 - 18:00.

  • f you wish to travel on a service not advertised as accessible, please call our Contact Centre 24 hours before you travel.
  • As we have a limited number of accessible coaches available, wheelchair users intending to travel on Goldliner services should call our Contact Centre 24 hours in advance.
  • Disabled passengers including wheelchair users travelling on Enterprise Cross Border Services should reserve a place 24 hours in advance of travel by phoning the Translink Contact Centre. All local train services are fully accessible.
