High Profile Events in May

"easy travel by bus and train is part of the day out"
17th May 2013

Dear Colleagues,

We have a very busy couple of weeks coming up with several high profile events where we have the chance to make travel by bus and train the best choice.

Today is the last day of the Balmoral Show at its new venue at Maze Long Kesh outside Lisburn. Our train and free shuttle bus services have worked very well and we have carried thousands of people to the show.   We received this comment from a happy customer:  “Compliments to Translink for making journey to Balmoral show at Maze so smooth. Train from Bangor to Lisburn station & free bus to grounds & same return journey - no hassle!!! Well Done Translink ....Great day out :)”

Tomorrow, we will operate an additional special train service for the North West 200; it will depart from Belfast GVS at 9.40am returning at 6.20pm from Portrush.  Also, to accommodate the extra passengers we expect, there will also be added capacity on some morning and evening services.

On Saturday 25th rugby fans travelling to the Ulster v Leinster Rabo Direct Pro12 Final on May 25 can enjoy our special trains to Dublin or use one of the Goldline services departing from locations across Northern Ireland.

Over the weekend of the 24th to 26th we will also provide special coach and train services for music fans travelling to Derry~Londonderry for the Radio One Big Weekend in Ebrington Square. As official public transport partner for the UK City of Culture, this will be another key event that requires our support and expertise.

Online ticket booking is now available – click www.translink.co.uk or passengers can call the contact centre on 90 66 66 30 for further details.

Finally, I am pleased to report that at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) Northern Ireland Awards we won the Change Management Programme of the Year award category.

Congratulations to our HR division on this excellent achievement.
