New Customer Facilities

"Customer feedback has been very positive."
5th July 2013

Dear Colleagues,

This week marks another successful and busy week for the Group with the official opening of the new Portadown Train Station taking place yesterday.

Work on this EU funded £3.6million redevelopment project started back in February 2012, and yesterday’s official opening by the Minister for Regional Development, Danny Kennedy MLA marked the end of the project funded by the DRD and the European Union INTERREG IVA Programme.

Accessibility, passenger comfort, convenience and safety have been of paramount importance throughout all aspects of the redevelopment. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in delivering these first class facilities and to those who have looked after our customers so well during the construction works.   I am delighted to say that customer feedback has been very positive with many of them telling us it has certainly been worth the wait!

This week we also launched our new ‘Journey Planner App’. This innovative and user friendly facility is great for our customers who increasingly want to plan their journey ‘on the go’ through mobile devices optimising ‘current location’ technology to make planning a journey as easy as possible.   This new app can be downloaded free from the Translink website, Google play or the Apple store – I would encourage you to give it a try yourself and help us spread the word for hassle-free, convenient and affordable travel.

With school holidays now in full swing, our ‘Get Up And Go’ marketing campaign is now launched encouraging everyone to make the best of summer 2013 with our great value bus and rail services across Northern Ireland and beyond whether they are flying out abroad via Dublin Airport and could avail of our X1/X2 service, or whether they want to show summer visitors the beautiful North Coast and famous Giant’s Causeway with the Goldline 221 coach service.

For a full range of our bus and rail services available across the network this summer please visit
