Civil Unrest

Dear Colleagues,

You will be aware that over the weekend we faced considerable difficulties keeping services running for our passengers, particularly in Belfast.  Unfortunately, we were forced to withdraw services on Friday and Saturday evening.  When deciding whether to remove services we work closely with the police and have highest concern for the safety of our colleagues and passengers.

I would like to thank in particular our colleagues driving buses who delivered services as far as they could in these difficult circumstances and worked hard to get passengers home.  We have received many expressions of thanks and support.

You may also be aware of media coverage which showed an individual wearing an old Translink fleece involved in the civil unrest.  This has focussed unfortunate and unwanted attention on Translink but can I be clear - we do not recognise the individual as a current or former employee of Translink and his actions are clearly not in any way associated with Translink.

Thank you for your on-going support.
