Pupil Travel

At the end of this school year, 30 June 2015, Translink will be withdrawing the Translink Pupil Pass travel card.

In place of the Pupil Pass travel card Translink have a range of alternative tickets and smartcards that provide best value savings for pupils on their bus or train travel to school.

Translink have written to parents/guardians of children currently using a Translink Pupil Pass travel card, providing details of alternative best value ticket options for their child’s travel for the new school year, starting September 2015.

 Pupils who travel to school using Ulsterbus or Metro Services and had used a Translink Pupil Pass for their travel have received a new Smartlink Multi-Journey or Smartlink Travel Card ready for topping up with journeys or travel periods for their home to school journey.

 For pupils who travel by train to school and had used a Translink Pupil Pass, best value savings on their rail travel is available through the following options.

 Pupils who travel to school using both bus and rail services have received an iLink card for the relevant zone/s for their home to school journey ready for topping up
yLink Card
Aged 16-23? yLink Card
 Pupils/students aged 16-23 years old can save 1/3 off bus and rail travel with a yLink card.  yLink cards cost only £8 for up to 8 years of savings. Simply complete a yLink application form and apply at any main Translink station.
