Thoresby Hall is an 18th century, grade 1 listed country house, set in acres of rolling countryside on the edge of Sherwood Forest, and is only a short drive from two of England’s best known historic cities, Lincoln and Nottingham. We spend a day in each city - though dragging yourself away from the super facilities and wonderful history of the Hall takes a great effort!

This wonderful hotel offers an indoor pool and spa, bowling and putting greens and, of course, archery - as practiced by local legend Robin Hood. Top quality live entertainment is presented in the hotel each night of your stay.

Day 1 - Monday

We leave the Europa Buscentre at 6.30am and catch the early morning HSS to Stranraer, from where we drive south to the majestic house that will be our home for the next four nights. We get our first taste of the excellent live entertainment on offer after dinner.

Day 2 - Tuesday

After breakfast we have a leisurely morning to explore the house and grounds, to see what is on offer on-site. In the afternoon we pay a brief visit to nearby Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre and venture into the southern Peak District. Dinner tonight is again followed by a live show.

Day 3 - Wednesday

A full day in Nottingham (29th September departure co-incides with the famous ‘Goose Fair’). We return to the hotel in mid-afternoon to allow some time to enjoy the indoor and outdoor facilities before dinner. The evening again concludes with live entertainment.

Day 4 - Thursday

To the east, the historic city of Lincoln boasts a magnificent castle and one of England’s major cathedrals. We spend a day here, returning once more to Thoresby Hall in mid-afternoon.

Day 5 - Friday

We say farewell to our stately home after breakfast and retrace our outward journey, arriving back in Belfast at 10.00pm.
