Scarborough, on the scenic Yorkshire coast, has been a spa town since 1620. Today, as one of the largest seaside resorts on England’s north-east coast, it retains much of the charm and sophistication associated with traditional spa towns.
Scarborough’s location, on two sandy bays surrounded by cliffs, provides us with an excellent base from which to explore the coast, the nearby Moors and even the ancient city of York, around 40 miles inland. One of the highlights of the tour is the steam train ride through the Moors to “Heartbeat Country”. |
