Rudesheim
Rudesheim is the perfect example of a romantic Rhine town. It is situated at the southern end of the ‘golden stretch’ of the river, just 40 miles south of Boppard. Famous for its vineyards, castles and ‘old town’ winding streets, Rudesheim is home to a fascinating mechanical musical instruments museum and the Asbach Visitors Centre, the birthplace of German brandy.
Day 1 - Thursday/Sunday
We leave Belfast on the early morning HSS and travel to Hull where we catch the overnight sailing to Europoort.

2 - Friday/Monday
From Europoort we drive through southern Holland and into Germany. By early afternoon we are following the course of the Rhine up-stream to the small town of Rudesheim, about 45 miles from Frankfurt.
There is a welcome drink in the hotel followed by a three course meal.

Day
3 - Saturday/Tuesday
After breakfast this morning there is a boat trip along the river to the Loreley Valley (approx. 4½ hrs). On our return to Rudesheim we have a tour of the famous Asbach Brandy factory.
Tonight after dinner it’s an evening of music and dancing in the famous Drosselgasse.
Day
4 - Sunday/Wednesday
Following another buffet breakfast we take a sightseeing ride around the town on the Winzerexpress, followed by a visit to the famous Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. In the afternoon there is an exciting ride in a chair-lift to the Niederwald Monument “Germania” and then, after dinner, to conclude another busy day, there will be wine-tasting in the hotel’s own wine cellar.

5 - Monday/Thursday
We bid our Rheinhotel hosts good-bye this morning after breakfast and begin our return journey, back to Europoort where we catch the overnight sailing to Hull.

From Hull we travel back to Belfast via Stranraer, arriving at the Europa Buscentre around 10.00pm.
