Blackpool

When it comes to a seaside holiday with sandy beaches, amusements and live entertainment, Blackpool still attracts more visitors than any other English resort. People come to enjoy the Tower, the piers and trams and, away from the prom, the more tranquil gardens, fountains and boating lake of Stanley Park.

As the summer season draws to a close, Blackpool looks forward to long autumn nights bathed in light and colour. The famous Blackpool Illuminations are considered to be the greatest free light show on earth, which entertains millions of visitors each year and brings glowing warmth to even the coldest October evening. There are six miles of shimmering lights, fibre optics and lasers, a long way from the eight electric arc lamps from its beginnings in 1879

We leave the Europa Buscentre at 6.30am and catch the early Stena HSS to Stranraer arriving in Blackpool in mid-afternoon.
