The village of Drymen is just a three hour drive from Stranraer, allowing us the luxury of late morning departures and afternoon returns. It stands at the very heart of Scotland, where the “high road meets the low road”, just north of Glasgow, at the foot of Loch Lomond - the perfect base from which to explore Loch Lomond National Park, the Tossachs, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

There is however much more to enjoy here if you stay at the Winnock, in what used to be a row of small cottages, a blacksmith’s shop and an 18th century Coaching Inn, now a 72 bedroom, 3 star hotel. Here you get spectacular scenery and historic cities during the day and, since they specialise in all sorts of themed breaks, excellent entertainment and fun during the evenings.
