Westport in Co. Mayo is one of Ireland’s most popular holiday destinations. The 4 star Hotel Westport has been a popular base for the Ulsterbus Summer Coach Holiday “Connemara Gold” tour for many years and now, for the first time, we can offer “winter warmer” breaks in this excellent property in our Short Breaks programme.
Enjoy the wild grandeur of Achill Island from the comfort of the coach, and return to the cosy comforts of an open fire and a superb dinner in Hotel Westport. Make full use of the hotel’s magnificent leisure facilities and take a relaxing walk through the town - without the summer crowds.
Day 1 Sunday
We leave Belfast at 9.00am and travel west through Enniskillen and Sligo and on to Westport where we check into our hotel, set in its own grounds, near the centre of the town.
After a leisurely breakfast you have time to check out the town or perhaps use the wonderful hotel facilities - pool, sauna etc. In the afternoon we travel north, around Clew Bay, to Achill Island for a short tour - the rugged Atlantic coastline can be magnificent in winter, especially from the comfort of a warm coach! We return to the hotel in good time for dinner.
Day 3 - Tuesday
Another morning free to enjoy the hotel or the town. In the afternoon we visit the superb National Museum of Country Life in Castlebar, just 12 miles away, returning again to the hotel in good time for a relaxing final dinner.
Day 4 - Wednesday
Take your time again this morning. After breakfast in late morning we commence our return journey, retracing our outward route and arriving back in Belfast around 6.00pm.
