The Dingle Peninsula tour is based at the Smerwick Harbour Hotel near Ballyferriter. Just beyond Dingle town, it is set in the heart of the West Kerry Gaeltacht, surrounded by unspoilt beaches and rugged cliffs.
Day 1 Sunday
We leave Belfast at 8.00am and travel directly to Kerry. New roads speed our journey and we arrive at the Smerwick Harbour Hotel, on the Atlantic coast of Kerry in time for dinner.
Enjoy a relaxing morning, after yesterday’s journey, with time to explore the village and admire the fine cliff scenery. In the afternoon we get an insight into the exceptionally rich history of this remote area when we visit the Old School House, now a museum.
Day 3 - Tuesday
Today we travel back along the spectacular coastline, passing majestic Slea Head and the Blasket Islands. We spend the afternoon in Dingle town.
Day 4 - Wednesday
After passing through Dingle town again this morning we stop briefly for a walk along Inch Strand (featured in Ryan’s Daughter) before proceeding to Tralee, the county town. In the afternoon we have time for a last look around this charming, remote corner of the ‘Kingdom of Kerry’.
Day 5 - Thursday
We leave Smerwick Harbour and the beautiful Dingle Peninsula this morning and return north to Belfast, arriving back at the Europa Buscentre around 6.00pm.
