The Slieve Donard has for many years been one of Northern Ireland’s leading hotels. Now, after a multi-million pound spa and bedroom development, it must surely rank up there amongst the top properties in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

A spectacular setting by the sea also makes the Slieve Donard the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Mourne Mountains and the nearby Carlingford Peninsula.

Beautiful scenery, luxurious hotel and short travelling time makes this the ideal relaxing short break, and this year we are delighted to be able to offer a much larger programme including prime dates throughout the summer.

Day 1 Sunday

We leave Belfast at 10.00am and drive past Newry and on to the Carlingford Peninsula, stopping in Carlingford around lunch time.

We continue along the edge of the lough through Omeath and into Warrenpoint. From here we make our way directly to Newcastle and our hotel for the next three nights.
Hotel:

Day 2 - Monday

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a morning free to relax. You may wish to avail of the hotel’s superb leisure facilities or simply take a stroll along the front.

This afternoon we travel further into the Mourne Mountains, down the Silent Valley and back to the hotel along the coast via Rostrevor and Kilkeel.

Day 3 - Tuesday

We travel around Dundrum Bay today, to the fishing port of Ardglass and on to Strangford. We visit Castle Ward and, in the afternoon, call at Downpatrick before returning to Newcastle.

Day 4 - Wednesday

Another relaxing breakfast before commencing our homeward journey. We take the Strangford ferry to Portaferry and travel along the sea coast of the Ards Peninsula through Portavogie, Donaghadee and Bangor to Belfast. We are expected at the Europa Buscentre at around 6.00pm.
