The Lake District is beautiful at any time of the year. in the summer our high-season Coach Holiday tours are based in the Skiddaw Hotel, in the centre of Keswick. It is to this very comfortable, ideally located hotel that we return with Short Break tours to see one of England’s most beautiful areas, when the leaves change to golden hues in the autumn (at Halloween) and when fresh spring colours return in March.
Day 1 - Monday
We leave Belfast on the mid-day sailing and travel on to Keswick, in the Northern Lakes area of Cumbria, arriving in good time to freshen up before dinner.
Our hotel is located in the centre of Keswick so we leave some time for exploration after breakfast before driving south of Grasmere, Ambleside and Bowness, on Lake Windermere.
Day
3 - Wednesday
We start today with a boat trip on Lake Ullswater, beautiful in autumn and made famous for its spring colour in Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’. Hopefully we have timed it right, but the lakes are always beautiful, even in the snow.
Day 4 - Thursday
We leave Keswick after breakfast and retrace our outward route to catch the afternoon sailing back to Belfast. We arrive at the Europa Buscentre around 5.00p.m.
