Alvaston Hall is a lovingly restored Victorian Hall, set in its own extensive grounds in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, just outside the riverside town of Nantwich and less than an hour’s drive from Chester, one of England’s most celebrated historic cities. The hotel has a 9-hole golf course, a flood-lit driving range, bowling green, putting green, heated indoor pool and leisure centre.

From Alvaston we visit Chester and the famous Cheshire Oaks Outlet Centre, and spend a day in each of the North of England‘s big two cities - Liverpool and Manchester.

Day 1 - Monday

We leave Belfast, travel south to Dun Laoghaire and take the HSS to Holyhead. From there we travel through North Wales and into Cheshire to check into our superb hotel, our home for the next few days. Dinner is followed by live entertainment.

Day 2 - Tuesday

Day 2 Tuesday We have a relaxing morning getting to know this unique hotel and exploring the grounds. We proceed to Chester for a few hours around lunch time and conclude at North-West England’s best known Shopping Outlet Centre, Cheshire Oaks. Dinner at the hotel is again followed by first class live entertainment.

Day 3 - Wednesday

Manchester today, and lots to see and do. First stop is the Trafford Centre - more than just a shopping centre, you could easily spend a full day here. The coach continues through the city to Bury, on the northern side, to their world famous market - over 370 stalls, mostly under cover, with 250,000 visitors every week - “hundreds of stalls with thousands of bargains”. The coach will pick up again at the Trafford Centre in the afternoon.

Back at the hotel, dinner is followed by another night of live entertainment.

Day 4 - Thursday

Liverpool, European City of Culture for 2008, is our destination today. You might like to take a “Ferry ’cross the Mersey” to view the historic buildings on the waterfront or visit the rejuvenated Albert Dock and the Beatles Story, and “if you want a cathedral, they’ve got one to spare”!

Day 5 - Friday

We leave Alvaston in late morning and retrace our outward journey through North Wales to Holyhead, where we catch the afternoon HSS to Dun Laoghaire. We arrive back at the Europa Buscentre around 9.00pm.
