The first Burns Supper was held in 1801 in the cottage in Alloway, on the fifth anniversary of the early death of Robert Burns, and it certainly was not the last! It has become a night to celebrate the life and genius of the Scottish National Bard, and we join in with a proper Scottish house party at the Hilton Hotel in Edinburgh.

Day 1 - Friday

We leave Belfast on the early morning HSS and sail to Stranraer. From there we proceed directly to Edinburgh, passing through Burns country en-route.

We check into our hotel with plenty of time to freshen up before tonight’s celebrations - a traditional Burns Night Supper with all the trimmings - addressing the haggis, a piper and Scottish dancers.

Hotel: Hilton Grosvenor, Edinburgh ****

(3 nights)

Day 2 - Saturday

A free day to explore or shop in Edinburgh, followed this evening by dinner with a Ceilidh Band.

Day 3 - Sunday

Relaxing Sunday in the capital. Tonight there is a special whisky tasting before dinner, in the true spirit of The Bard.

Day 4 - Monday

We leave Edinburgh after breakfast and drive to Ayrshire where we arrive at the Burns National Heritage Park around lunchtime. We visit the Tam O’Shanter Experience and Brig O’Doon and complete our Burn’s experience at the famous cottage.

We catch the evening HSS back to Belfast arriving at the Europa Buscentre around 10.00pm.
