A pianist plays the baby-grand on most evenings in the old-world dining-room - a genteel reminder of an age when wealthy Victorians came to Peebles to “take the waters” at the Hydropathy Centre - later rebuilt as the splendid Hydro Hotel that we see today, set in thirty acres, on the edge of this charming town, in the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders.
In 2007 the hotel celebrated its 100th birthday with the prestigious “Visit Scotland Tourism Business of the Year” award.
Modern facilities blend perfectly with old grandeur to again offer us unique accommodation as we explore Sir Walter Scott’s ‘Border’ Counties - Berwickshire, Roxburghshire, Selkirkshire and Peeblesshire. |
