Dr Samuel Johnston said that “the man who is tired of London is tired of life”, and we return again this year, still full of enthusiasm, to visit the Tower, the Palace and St Paul’s. We also travel out to Windsor, call at Althorp on our outward journey and at Woburn Abbey on our way home.
Day 1 - Sunday
We leave Belfast to catch the early morning HSS to Stranraer, from where we drive south to our overnight hotel in the Midlands.
Althorp, Princess Diana’s home and last resting place, is less than an hour’s drive from Coventry, and we spend the morning there before completing our journey to London.
Day 3 - Tuesday The Thames, The Tower And St. Paul's
By way of introduction to the city we begin the day with a boat trip on the Thames, starting at Westminster Bridge beside the Houses of Parliament. After a trip downstream we disembark for a visit to the Tower of London. In the afternoon we go to St Paul’s Cathedral.
Day 4 - Wednesday Buckingham Palace
The highlight of our tour for many is our morning visit to Buckingham Palace. The afternoon is free - the driver will arrange a pick-up to return you to the hotel in time for dinner.
Day 5 - Thursday Windsor
We leave the hotel just after breakfast and make our way west, arriving in Windsor in time for the changing of the guards (takes place on alternate days at 11.00am, weather permitting, so we cannot guarantee that all our tours coincide). Admission to the castle is included and we have the rest of the day free to explore this charming town.
Day 6 - Friday
Woburn Abbey
On leaving London this morning we travel through the Home Counties to "Wonderful Woburn" in Bedfordshire, home of the Duke of Bedford. Here in this 3,000 acre estate we visit the house, where we have a guided tour, and then spend a couple of hours in the world famous Safari Park before continuing to our overnight hotel in Leicester.
Today we travel through the North of England and into Scotland where we catch the evening HSS from Stranraer to Belfast, arriving back at the Europa Buscentre around 10.00pm.
