There are very few places in Ireland where a coach can go that Ulsterbus tours has not already been during the past 40 years. Ireland - Coast to Coast returns to some of the most famous corners of the island to enjoy the places and people that make Ireland such a marvellous holiday destination.

We travel from the Antrim Coast to the Ring of Kerry and from Galway Bay to Dublin’s Fair City.

Day 1 - Sunday
Antrim Coast, Giant's Causeway and Derry's Walls

We leave Belfast at 9.00am and travel north along the Antrim coast to our first stop, at Ireland’s best known attraction, the Giant’s Causeway. From there we proceed to Magilligan Point, at the narrowest part of the Foyle estuary, where we take the ferry over to Inishowen, in Donegal.

We spend some time in the afternoon on Derry’s Walls, and end the day in the family run Kee’s Hotel, in Ballybofey, back in Co Donegal. After dinner tonight there is a little local traditional entertainment to round off a very full first day.

Day 2 - Monday
Sligo & Mayo

This morning we travel through Barnesmore Gap and along the edge of the Bluestack Mountains, to Donegal Bay. From there it is just a short journey to the foot of Ben Bulbin where we briefly visit Yeats’ grave at Drumcliff Churchyard.

We continue through Sligo into Mayo to meet a local man with a great story to tell and a collection of personal memorabilia to back it up, at Hennigan’s Heritage Centre. In the afternoon we cross the county border into Galway to find our hotel for the next two nights, overlooking Galway Bay.

Day 3 - Tuesday
Connemara & Co. Galway

From our hotel on the edge of the bay we travel west into Connemara. We stop for a while around lunchtime in Clifden and return to Galway via Lough Inagh, Recess and Maam Cross to spend the evening watching the sun go down on Galway Bay.

Day 4 - Wednesday
Co. Clare & the Shannon

We continue south today, travelling through the unique Burren countryside to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. We cross the Shannon by ferry and call at the Flying Boat Museum at Foynes, the home of Irish Coffee, before continuing to Killarney and our hotel for the next two nights.

Day 5 - Thursday
The Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry today. We visit Kate Kearney’s Cottage, travel through the Gap of Dunloe and along the Atlantic coast through Waterville and Sneem to Lady’s View before returning to Killarney. Gleneagle Hotel is famous for its entertainment so we are sure to finish our stay in Co Kerry on a high note tonight.

Day 6 - Friday
Blarney & the Curragh of Kildare

Back on the road again today, into Co Clare. We stop to kiss the Blarney Stone before travelling through the Galty Mountains and Tipperary to the Curragh of Kildare. Here we visit the National Stud and then proceed to the heart of Dublin city, where dinner awaits us in our final hotel on the edge of the Liffey.

Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre, Dublin ****
(2 Nights)

Day 7 - Saturday
Dublin City

The hotel’s central location means that Dublin is right on your doorstep, and the city is yours to explore at leisure - dinner is not included tonight to allow you the opportunity to try one of the many superb restaurants in this truly international city.

Day 8 - Sunday
The Mountains of Mourne

On leaving Dublin this morning we travel north as far as Newry. Where we turn along the shore of Carlingford Lough and around the mountains to Newcastle for Sunday lunch in the Percy French Restaurant, in the grounds of the Slieve Donard Hotel - the perfect setting for our final meal together, where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the seas.

In the afternoon we take the Strangford Ferry and travel up the Ards Peninsula, along the edge of the Irish Sea and Belfast Lough, back to where we started our Coast to Coast adventure.
