The family owned and managed Livermead Hotel in Torquay has become a firm favourite with Ulsterbus travellers to England’s south-west peninsula. The staff consistently offer a warm welcome and excellent food and service making it a great place to relax and unwind.

Totnes on market day, Brixham, Sidmouth, Buckfast Abbey and the boat trip on the River Dart remain firm favourites on this popular tour. We also explore the coastal area to the south of Torquay, stretching from Dartmouth to Plymouth.

Day 1 - Saturday

We travel south this morning and catch the HSS to Holyhead. From there we continue through North Wales and into the English Midlands to our overnight hotel.

Day 3 - Monday
Free day in Torquay

Day 4 - Tuesday
Totnes Market

This morning we go shopping as it used to be, with a visit to Totnes on Market Day. Afterwards we travel to Brixham, a traditional fishing port with one of the most beautiful harbours in the south-west.

Day 5 - Wednesday
Sidmouth

Today we travel up the coast to Sidmouth, with its row of balconied Georgian houses along the seafront, followed by a visit to Babbacombe Model Village. We return to the Livermead in mid-afternoon, with the rest of the day and evening free to enjoy Torquay.

Day 6 - Thursday
Plymouth

To the south of Torbay and beyond the Dart estuary is South Hams, an area which enjoys one of the mildest climates in Britain. Today we explore this classic Devonshire landscape of pastures and thatch and white-washed villages. Our tour ends in Plymouth where we spend the afternoon.

Day 7 - Friday
Buckfast Abbey and boat trip to Dartmouth

A relaxing day today begins with an intriguing tour of Buckfast Abbey. Admire the monks’ handiwork - the polished marble, carved wood and stained glass, not to mention their famous tonic wine and honey.

In the afternoon we have a gentle boat trip down to Dartmouth, where the river meets the sea.

Day 8 - Saturday

Our homeward journey commences after breakfast and takes us back along the motorway to our last stop in the Midlands.
