Safety

As you would expect, the C3k train has a high specification when it comes to safety, meeting the very latest in industry standards.

Safety features within the passenger saloons include two fire extinguishers located within the vestibule panels at each door and emergency hammers housed in glass cases above the windows. A First Aid Box is kept in an emergency cupboard.

CCTV
An important security feature of the new trains is the Closed Circuit Television surveillance (CCTV) system in use at all times. Digital cameras are located on either side of the LED information panels, have clear sight of the whole car and record continuously. Vandals caught will be prosecuted.

Within the driver’s cab a camera facing forward also records the track before the train and any movement on it. This includes people creating a hazard to the train or themselves.
