Time is better spent on the Goldline
19 April 2004
From Monday (19 April) Translink’s flagship Goldline services will offer more buses more often on its most popular routes, thanks to the introduction of 50 state of the art coaches.

The Spanish built 53-seat coaches are the latest additions to the Translink fleet, and mark the culmination of the £22.6 million investment in 190 new vehicles announced in February last year.
“Our Goldline passengers are the first to benefit from the dramatic improvements we plan to implement across the bus and rail network,” explained Translink Chief Executive, Keith Moffatt.
“With 139 daily departures to destinations across Northern Ireland, the revised Goldline service is the single most important network change in recent years.
“The service now offers car drivers a viable transport alternative. Whether catching up on work, current affairs, or even some extra moments of relaxation, time on board is time better spent,” he said.
Mr Moffatt went on to explain how the enhanced Goldline service reinforces Translink’s commitment to achieving the objectives identified in the Northern Ireland Regional Transport Strategy.
“Together with the introduction of our 23 new trains, the first of which are scheduled to enter service later this year, the new Goldline service will give the Northern Ireland public a much greater choice and access to a rejuvenated public transport network.”
“Translink is determined to deliver a modern, sustainable, safe transportation system which benefits society, the economy and the environment and which actively contributes to social inclusion and everyone's quality of life.” Mr Moffatt concluded.
