Translink Marketing Executive Ciarán Rogan said:
“We are delighted to once again support Cinemagic and provide free transport for schools attending festival workshops and screenings. Our ongoing partnership allows pupils to explore the fascinating world of motion picture, develop their self-confidence and creative potential. With more young people engaging with all forms of moving image we will also help to secure a healthy future for Northern Ireland’s vibrant arts scene. As an added bonus we are offering festival-goers a special 2 for 1 cinema ticket deal for all festival screenings on presentation of a valid Translink bus or rail ticket at the Cinemagic box office.”
Joan Burney, Chief Executive of Cinemagic, explains the benefits of the association:
“With thanks to Translink, Cinemagic is able to increase access for schools, right across Northern Ireland, wishing to attend Cinemagic festival events. This in turn increases the amount of young people engaging with the arts and creative industries, and therefore it is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to have fun and learn in a creative way, as well as being transported to the venue safely.”
The Coca - Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People runs from 13 November – 5 December in various venues across Belfast, including Movie House Cinemas Queen’s Film Theatre, and ODEON Cinemas.
The fun-filled festival for 4-25 year olds is action packed with fantastic film screenings - special premieres, international features, documentaries, shorts, foreign language films, education packages from pre-school to college level, and accompanying industry workshops.
