Upgrade of Ballymoney rail halt

17 July 2008:

NI Railways is advising passengers and local residents using Ballymoney station halt that, due to ongoing upgrade work there will be night work carried out on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July. Platform 2 will also be closed on Saturday 26th July in the Ballymoney to Derry direction and instead passengers can use the opposite platform.

The work is part of the £17 million investment package to upgrade stations across Northern Ireland in order to deliver a better rail service. This work involves new signage, shelters, seating and re-surfacing and will mean greater access for disabled passengers and a better environment for all.

Translink’s General Manager for Rail Services, Mal McGreevy, has assured passengers that every effort would be made to minimise noise and disruption to stations and services.

NI Railways would like to ask passengers and residents for their continued support, in order to improve this local facility for the local community, and would apologise for any inconvenience caused by these temporary arrangements.

Passengers can access the latest information regarding the project by logging on to www.translink.co.uk or by contacting Translink’s Call Centre on 028 9066 6630.
