All Aboard for the Hospice Walk
11th April 2008:

NI Railways have teamed up with Northern Ireland Hospice Care this year to provide free rail tickets for walkers participating in the 2008 Hospice Sponsored Walk.
One of the big problems with walking any distance is having to walk back to your car at the end of the walk.
Thanks to NI Railways this will not be a problem for walkers taking part in the Lagan Tow Path Walk on Saturday 12th April or the North Down Coastal Path Walk on Saturday 19th April, as tickets will be supplied by the hospice to enable walkers to travel to and from their chosen walk in comfort along the two selected lines, Belfast Central to Lisburn and Belfast Central to Bangor Line.
Commenting on NI Railways involvement Lynda Shannon, Communications Manager said “We are delighted to be supporting the Hospice Walk 2008 as it is a means of raising thousands of pounds for this very worthy cause.
“At NI Railways we are also keen to encourage people to get out and get fit so by supplying free rail tickets we hope to encourage more people to get involved”.
Hospice Walks will be taking place at Belfast Castle, Larne, Carrickfergus, Colin Glen and along the Lagan Tow Path on Saturday 12th April starting at 10.00 am.
A further 5 walks will take place at Castle Ward, Castle Coole in Enniskillen, Antrim, Portstewart Strand and along the North Down Coastal Path on Saturday 19th April.
To obtain further information on how avail of the free tickets or help support the hospice or participate in one of the walks call 90 777123 or visit the hospice website at www.hospicewalk.com
