Upgrade of Whiteabbey rail halt
10 April 2008:
NI Railways is reminding local residents using Whiteabbey station halt that, due to ongoing upgrade work there will be one off night work carried out on Friday 11th April and Friday 18th April.
The work is part of the £17 million investment package to upgrade stations across Northern Ireland in order to deliver a better rail service. This work involves new signage, shelters, seating and re-surfacing and will mean greater access for disabled passengers and a better environment for all.
Translink’s General Manager for Rail Services, Mal McGreevy, has assured local residents that every effort will be made to minimise noise and disruption to stations and services.
NI Railways would like to ask residents for their continued support, in order to improve this local facility for the local community, and would apologise for any inconvenience caused by these temporary arrangements.
Passengers can access the latest information regarding the project by logging on to www.translink.co.uk or by contacting Translink’s Call Centre on 028 9066 6630.
