St. Anthony’s Environmental Warriors Help Make Larne Rail Station a ‘Greener’ space!

9th May 2007:

Emma Ashe & Melissa O’Neill from St. Anthony’s Primary School are part of a young team of environmental warriors who recently joined  Frank Moore (Larne Line Route Manager) and Lyndsay Matthews (Biodiversity officer, Larne Borough Council) to carry out some essential ‘green’ work at Larne Station recently.

The enthusiastic environmentalists put their green fingers to the test at the NI Railways Station on a blustery spring day. The young people were invited along to help get the area around Larne Station into tip-top condition with a litter pick and they also improved the surroundings by planting some young trees on the premises.

The day was part of an ongoing environmental project which aims to encourage young people to become more aware of their own environment and to become responsible for it while achieving recognition for their hard-work and dedication.

NI Railways, Larne Borough Council and Tidy NI are also involved in this very worthwhile project.
