Pupils from St. Therese Lisieux Primary School in Belfast will be brightening up the journeys of Central Station commuters over the coming weeks with a new exhibition of their artwork, entitled My Favourite Journey.

Adrienne Maguinness, Andrew Morrisey and Fionnuala Cunningham
The exhibition is a joint project between Translink and the Belfast Festival at Queen's and consists of colourful drawings and posters created by young people who were able to come to performances and events at the Belfast Festival at Queen's for the very first time, as a result of complimentary transport provided by Translink.
“Translink was delighted to be able to help support local communities and encourage first time attendees from schools and community groups to sample some of the exciting events this year’s Belfast Festival had to offer,” commented Translink’s Andrew Morrissey.
“The wide, bright open spaces of our state of the art building are providing our young artists with a blank canvas for this eye-catching project, which I am sure will be well received by customers and staff alike.” He said.
Amongst the festival events which the pupils attended was Make a Day of It, a new innovation for schools in which young people were encouraged to attend three festival events on the same day, which this year included a talk by children’s author G.P. Taylor, a schools concert by traditional group, Dervish and an exhibition at the Ulster Museum.
The My Favourite Journey exhibition consists of 26 colourful A2 posters, depicting various ‘favourite’ journeys and destinations including the Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens and the seaside.
The exhibition will be on display in the main concourse of Central Station, Belfast, from Wednesday 30th November up until Christmas.
