Clever kids will be using the Child Smartlink Travelcard from Translink to get them to and from schools in Belfast this term – and clever parents will be counting the savings!
The card, which is packed full of added benefits, such as anti-fraud devices, transferability and unlimited travel on Citybus (now Metro) services is great value – allowing parents to save even more for the college fund!
“This type of ticket represents a significant saving for pupils having to make one or more journeys per day,” says John Campbell Translink’s Commercial Services Manager. “£6.00 buys unlimited Citybus (now Metro) travel for a week, meaning that travel to and from extracurricular activities is also included in the price.”
“The fact that the card can be shared between members of the family may also appeal to some parents who have more than one child. Also parents should not worry that younger children may loose their cards. If a card is lost, it can be ‘hot listed’ and easily replaced due to the in-built microchip technology.”
There is a one off charge of £1.50 to buy the card which is available from Smartlink agents around the city and from Europa or Laganside Buscentres and the Citybus (now Metro) Kiosk at Donegall Square West.
