"We are encouraging families to get more for their money" |
Holiday at home 03 July 2009
Dear Colleagues,
This week saw the re-opening of the railway line between Ballymena and Coleraine following a 13 week closure to facilitate track relay work. I would like to extend my thanks to all those who delivered it on time and on budget.
The completion of the work comes at a perfect time as we encourage people to get out more and use our services over the summer months.
With the prospect of good weather ahead, we are encouraging families to get more for their money and time and holiday at home. We have many attractions across Northern Ireland and a range of great value tickets to get you there.
Our Super Summer Savers map details different day trips around NI stopping in at the Armagh Planetarium, Giant’s Causeway which is part of the stunning Causeway Coastal Route, the Tall Ships and the Walled City of Derry to name a few. Along with great value travel, discounts of up to 15% can be had at a number of attractions and destinations throughout NI by simply showing your bus or rail ticket. The map is available from all NI bus and rail stations or at www.translink.co.uk and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board website.
Finally, we have launched our new initiative ‘Senior Moments with Translink’ offering 60+ and 65+ SmartPass holders special coffee shop discounts, while using our services and enjoying some good NI hospitality in our villages, towns and cities.
