Dear Colleagues,

We all know that buses and trains arriving on time is one of the most important things we can do from our customers’ point of view.  So it is good to see that we are delivering for both the bus and rail businesses.

In particular, the latest punctuality figures for rail services during July and August are great news; we exceeded the ‘on time’ targets set out in our passenger’s charter on all lines.

Thanks for your hard work in achieving this – it could only be done through working together and has been a big part of our success story.  

The number of people travelling by bus and rail has been rising consistently.; from 2004/5 to 2007/8 the number of people choosing to use our rail services rose by 1.9m and by 4.8m for the bus business.

Performance and results like these are to be applauded and recognised as among the best in the business anywhere in GB or Ireland.
