Dear Colleagues,
So far I have visited locations mainly in Belfast and I must say I have been struck by the friendliness and welcome I have received everywhere.
Having spoken and listened to a lot of you my first impressions are of a passion and commitment to keep building on the very real achievements which you have delivered over the past years.
A clear example of that passion is found with those who deliver our Safety Bus programme to schools. At the recent annual awards of the NI Federation of Passenger Transport it was singled out as “head and shoulders above the others” in the innovation category. Well done to those involved, in particular Susan O’Neill and Michael Murray.
You may also read in the press or on our website that we are asking passengers and non users what they would like to see in the new trains we are procuring, arising from the recent budget. An important part of the success of the last new trains project was the consultation we did to get the design right. Anyone interested in having their say can look at www.translink.co.uk/consult.
Lastly, to those of you who will be taking a few days off over Easter – enjoy the break – and if you are one of the many who will be busy over part of the holiday period running services for our passengers – you deserve particular mention.
