Message from Catherine Mason, Group Chief Executive

7 March 2008

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to use the weekly email to introduce myself.  I have joined you as Group Chief Executive of NITHC / Translink, having come from Arriva, one of the largest international public transport groups.

I am sure there are many differences between how things are done in Translink and other public transport companies – but there are also many things which are the same.

Doing our best to look after our passengers and putting what they want first is important everywhere and a particular passion of mine – it is one area almost completely within our control so we should be able to make sure we get it right.

Good communications is also important in all organisations.  To be successful now and in the future we must communicate well not just with our passengers, the media and the politicians, but also with each other.

I know this weekly message is very well received and read by many - inside and outside the group.  It is one way we can make sure everyone is kept up to date.

Of course face to face communication is also important and over the next weeks and months I will be visiting many stations, depots, garages and offices.  I look forward to meeting you and hearing from you.  Meantime, if you wish, you can of course also reply to this email.

It is great to be here and I am really looking forward to working with you.

Catherine Mason,

Group Chief Executive
