Chief Executive's weekly email

18 January 2008

Dear Colleagues,

We all know that that our people are our greatest asset and that for us to succeed we all have to do a good job and produce quality work.

To help us, we are committed to securing the Investors in People (IiP) standard throughout our operations. This means people will have the right knowledge, skills and motivation to work efficiently.

As an employer we must make sure we appreciate our people and value the contribution you can make. By giving and receiving encouragement and praise, everyone within Translink pulls together as a team. We are also committed to involving you and keeping you informed.

For you, IiP means Translink recognises your importance and helps help you to develop your potential, improve your skills and gain greater job satisfaction.

Donald Connolly, Training and Development Manager looks after preparing the different parts of Translink for IiP assessment.

The good news is that the IT and Projects Division has just been successful in gaining IiP accreditation. Congratulations to them and of course to Donald!

IT and Projects join Bus Engineering, Rail Engineering, Marketing, Infrastructure, Human Resources, Ulsterbus Tours and Parcellink as having achieved this significant recognition. Next up for assessment is Railway Operations.

Philip O'Neill,

Acting Chief Executive
