Dear Colleagues,

I want first to share some correspondence we received this week. North Down Borough Council emailed:

“Just a short but very sincere congratulations on your handling of transport for the Snow Patrol Concert. Everyone involved were fantastic, professional and committed to making it work. I was at Bangor Train Station at 12.15am on Saturday as transport was a major concern for us.

I was very impressed with the organisation but most of all with the flexibility shown and the on the ground decisions made by your team…the epitome of good customer service - you managed to transport 7,000 bodies - so well done. The event was a fantastic success with Translink playing a massive part in that.”

A passenger on a coach tour wrote: “I am just back from Blackpool and had a lovely time and a very nice driver - you must have a store of these young men! I always feel I am the only one - I get such attention.”

Just think how many people these individuals have told thier stories to! Well done to all involved.

Congratulations to Larne Bus Station who won 1st place in this year’s Ulster in Bloom competition. Foyle St. Bus Station and Magherafelt Buscentre were joint 2nd and Whitehead Rail Station was 3rd. This event is good for our passengers and staff, gives us great local publicity and shows we are a real part of the community.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who worked hard to make sure the first week of ‘back to school’ went very smoothly. We introduced the first of our new school bus fleet which were very well received. Not unexpectedly, as we carry 65000 children to school and don’t know for certain until the Monday morning all journey details, there were some (very few) hiccups. But things were quickly fixed - well done, it’s been a busy week.
