April 2007
Dear Colleagues,
The long awaited, or for some, the dreaded ‘No Smoking’ legislation
comes into effect on Monday 30th April and with this the introduction
of the Translink No Smoking Policy.
It is therefore timely that we take this opportunity to remind
you all that from Monday, smoking will now only be permitted
during official breaks in designated areas and that smoking
in or on Translink premises including buildings, platforms,
structures and halts is prohibited.
We are all well aware of the health risks associated with smoking
and passive smoking and I would encourage as many of you as
possible to take this opportunity to ‘stub it out’!
The corporate HSE department are willing and ready to provide
support to help you quit.
The introduction of the company policy is in line with our
legal obligations and I trust everyone will work to ensure
it is fully implemented and remind passengers of the regulations.
For those who choose to give up this weekend – remember
there is lots of support out there for you!
