Dear Colleagues,
Yesterday we enjoyed the Translink annual safety conference. “Enjoyed” is
actually the correct word because the presentations, discussions
and working sessions were all interesting, very relevant and
a pleasure to be involved in. It was a great day all round!
We will be circulating the content and outcomes of the conference
in due course. But it is worth highlighting one thing – the
sheer breadth of activity we are involved in throughout Translink
in relation to delivering safety.
I would like to again acknowledge the commitment of our staff
and safety representatives in helping us shape and implement
our safety strategies and plans.
The presentations from all colleagues were high quality and professional
and demonstrated a real commitment to the safety of ourselves,
our co-workers, our passengers and the public.
As you are all aware safety is our highest priority and it is
important some days to take stock of the huge amount we are doing
and doing well. As always of course, our safety performance is
only as good as the most recent service run and we cannot be
complacent.
But listening yesterday really filled me with confidence, and
was very reassuring that staff continue to be fully committed
to our strong values in relation to safety.
