Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to be taking on the role of Acting Chief Executive
of Translink. It comes at a time when we have made significant
changes over recent years and now have a track record of success,
demonstrated by the increasing numbers using both
the bus and rail networks.
My message to everyone is “business as usual!” We
must stay focused on improving our services to
provide a safe, sustainable public transport network which will
continue
the growth in passenger numbers.
We have made good progress, but we are still only at the beginning
of the regeneration of public transport in Northern Ireland
and I look forward to working with you all in my new role.
I know
I can rely on your professionalism and support.
I couldn’t let this first email pass without mentioning
the dreadful weather we have had lately and thanking all rail
and bus colleagues for their committment and good humour
in difficult conditions, particularly those who worked hard
last Friday
getting passengers
home
when
the rail
line
was
blocked
at Yorkgate
by a wall which
was blown over. It is at times like that it is clear how much
our community relies on the service we provide.

Acting Chief Executive
